Viva Riva! To Premiere In Nigerian, Dec. 1

Viva Riva!, the Congolese crime thriller film will be making its way to the cinemas in Nigeria after a series of successful premieres in 18 African countries including Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Congo DR, Lesotho and Swaziland. The movie is set to premiere on Thursday, December 1, 2011.

Directed by Congolese film director and producer Djo Tunda Wa Munga, the 2010 movie has won numerous awards including the six major African Movie Academy Awards, an MTV Movie Award for Best African Film and a ‘Best feature’ award at the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles.
The movie which features a gang war ignited by a fuel crisis in Congo was shot in Kinshasa, in both French and Lingala languages and features actors Patsha Bay, Manie Malone and Hoji Fortuna.
This is a high-definition portrait of urban Africa that is rarely seen on the big screen. Rich with colour and movement, Munga’s film takes audiences on a journey through crowded city streets and steamy nightclubs. He captures an atmosphere evocative of the DRC as it is today’, Steven Markovitz, co-producer of Big World Cinema says.
The 96 minutes running movie was released on September 10, 2010 in Canada and February 18, 2011 in the UK.
